Article: News - Marines honor resolute lifesaver Marine Corps 1st Sgt. Bradley Kasal received the Navy Cross for his actions in November of 2004.He rescued wounded marines. He used all available field dressings on another marine, even though he had been shot multiple times, since he believed one of them should survive and he decided it would be the other marine. Then when a grenade was thrown into the building, he acted again.
Kasal saw the grenade, and using his own body as a shield, leapt onto his fellow Marine as the grenade exploded. But he did survive and his heroism was rewarded this week. [Hat tip to Cowboy Blob]
"I thought the chances of surviving were zero," he said.
