Bonnie was staying at an emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence when investigators say John Woodring stormed inside, forcing others out of the way and killed her. Bonnie went there last week after her husband allegedly strangled her. He was apparently furious about a restraining order she just got against him for other marital issues. The Left's response to domestic violence is always, "Get a restraining order and hide in a shelter." Some advice. Actually it isn't bad as far as it goes. But the real advice should be to get a handgun, buy a case of ammunition, and take some classes at your local range. Make a plan to defend yourself and get the tools and the skills you need.
Of course I am sure that the shelter is a defenseless-victim-zone. They always are. Most shelters won't even let you teach Refuse To Be A Victim (an NRA class) because it MENTIONS guns - no guns are involved, but that mere mention is too much for most shelters.
People who are involved in abusive relationships need to understand that a piece of paper can't help you, the system can't protect you, and if you only hide like a rabbit, you will meet a similar end. Being prepared to defend yourself offers no guarantee. There are no guarantees in this life. But it is the best chance you have. Self-defense is a Human Right.
