The official unemployment rate is 5.7 per cent, but independent economists have calculated the real rate is between 15 per cent and 17 per cent. Youth unemployment is 23 per cent, according to the European Union.

The alliance is going to try to deregulate industry and get the economy going. Not an easy thing to do after more than 50 years of Socialist stupor.
