News-Record.com - Greensboro, North Carolina: News: High Point homeowner shoots intruder Homeowners heard a loud noise. They found the front door forced open and an intruder in their house.
Terry Zimmerman, of 515 Hill St. in High Point, was walking into the residence when the homeowners confronted him in the front hallway, police said.Zimmerman was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.
The homeowner, whom police did not identify, shot Zimmerman once in the chest.
Notice that a weapon had been retrieved BEFORE investigating the noise. This made self-defense possible.
