Cooperation Does Not Guarantee Safety

Clerk recovering after store shooting A familiar story. A store clerk hands over the cash to a robber. The robber then tries to kill the store clerk.

After Ping Chen handed over the money, things went downhill.
The suspect took several steps toward the door then turned around and shot Chen in the right shoulder with a pistol, knocking her to the ground, police said. The man then leaned over the counter and fired a second shot that hit her left hand as she tried to cover her face.

"All indications are that he was trying to kill her," Rock Hill Police Lt. Jerry Waldrop said. "The clerk was, in our opinion, cooperative. But for some reason, the suspect shot her."
The reason, Lt Waldrop, is that violent criminals are violent, and this one apparently didn't want a witness around to testify.

Now being prepared to defend yourself is no guarantee that you will be safe, but neither is cooperating with criminals. There are no guarantees in this life. So you have to make a decision about how you will approach life - on your feet or on your knees.

And of course the recommendation of cooperation that the Left and the Police love to give is usually given by a man talking about robbery. They never seem to discuss other violent crimes, like rape.

For myself, I will take direct action.

Update: this from Xavier and Jeff Cooper - Jeff Cooper on Crime
November 1993--"Fight back! Whenever you are offered violence, fight back! The aggressor does not fear the law, so he must be taught to fear you. Whatever the risk, and at whatever the cost, fight back!"
