Self-defense Legal in PA

JusticeSomerset Co. judge denies investigation into shooting death | AP | 02/02/2008 But the dead-guy's family isn't happy with that idea.

After the DA decided it was self-defense, the family wanted the state to get involved.
However, Judge John Cascio says in a ruling issued Friday that the [family] didn't suggest any reason for him to interfere with [DA] Spangler's decision.
The dead-guy and his accomplice who was also shot, but did not die, were apparently breaking into an apartment that contained an armed resident.

If you break into enough homes, you will eventually find an armed person on the other side of the door. If you are really unlucky, "enough" may be one. Self-defense is a human right, and it appears to be your legal right in Pennsylvania.
