Thoughts on Super Tuesday

There weren't too many surprises yesterday, though not all of the caucuses have reported yet.

Huckabee did better than I expected.

Obama and Clinton remain in a very close race isn't surprising given the way the Democrats divide up the delegates. But the fact that some states are very close and others aren't close at all is a bit of a surprise.

But the big thing I learned is that in a given state, the 2 major parties often do things in different ways. The Democrats will have a primary (yesterday) and the Republicans will have a caucus next month - or something.

It is wonderful to see the process actually work. It looks like both conventions will actually make decisions, not just be pointless coronations. Probably good for all of us.
