OCEANSIDE -- Police weren't saying much Monday about a suspected road rage incident Saturday night in which an off-duty San Diego police officer shot and wounded a Camp Pendleton woman and her 8-year-old son.Frank White is on
The off-duty officer, Franklin "Frank" White of Oceanside, fired an undisclosed number of shots during the incident, which happened at about 9:30 p.m. in a shopping center parking lot off Old Grove Road, said Oceanside police Sgt. Kelan Poorman.
Do you think the 8-year-old boy posed a threat to officer White, or did he fire his weapon negligently? Just asking.
OK, the facts are not all in (or police haven't released them). "Innocent until proved guilty" and all that... Let's see how things stand when the other shoe drops. But then I don't believe he will ever face a jury of his peers. I think an internal investigation will conclude that he acted appropriately. But then I am completely cynical.
