The End of the Best Technology Ever Lately

Study Says Carbon Nanotubes as Dangerous as Asbestos: Scientific American They will no doubt try to get the use of nanotubes killed. (Has anyone ever been around agricultural pesticides?) Everything has some risk, but carbon nano-fibers have a tremendous amount of promise.

But you can see it coming. Nantubes = Asbestos. They will be killed.

Once we learn how to make them longer, they will be even more useful. (Anybody ever heard of the Space Elevator?) But that won't matter - or all of the other things they make possible, like batteries that will last a LOT longer. The lawyers will do everything they can to kill them off.
