It Hasn't Worked, It Doesn't Work, Let's Do it Some More

Shooting spotlights gun sales problem - LA Daily News This is a story about how a parolee, subject to a restraining order, got a gun in California.
Despite some of the country's toughest gun laws, California's violent ex-cons, like Fernando Diaz Jr., 33, have no problem arming themselves.
The black market will provide guns to criminals who want them. But there are calls for even more laws that the criminals won't obey.

Doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is one definition of insanity.

LA Police confiscated 6000 illegal firearms last year. Does that sound like making law-abiding citizens jump through hoops is working in any way?

Operation Exile remains the only program shown to reduce gun crime. No new laws are needed since it is just an organized enforcement of existing laws. But they won't call for that. Not enough splash for an election year.
