Police Can't Respond Fast Enough

Mom shot to death in front of children during 911 call The Left loves 911 calls and waiting to be rescued. There is only one problem with that advise. It doesn't really work.

A violent encounter is likely to be over very quickly. The police are minutes away - even assuming you can call before the crime occurs.
Police say a woman was shot to death in front of her two children in east Kansas City.

Police found the woman's body early Saturday morning when responding to a 911 hang-up call.

Police said a man who was with her was also shot and suffered life-threatening wounds.
Talking to a 911 operator is a good thing, and getting police to the scene of a crime as fast as possible is a good thing. They don't guarantee your safety however. Now having a gun will not guarantee your safety either. There are no guarantees in this life save for death and taxes. For my part, I will take an active part in my own defense whenever possible.
