What is on their minds?

Myanmar cyclone: Burma junta seizes aid shipments - Telegraph Apparently the Burmese junta doesn't care if a few hundred thousand people die of disease or starvation, as they block shipments of aid to the impacted areas. About 1.5 million people have been displaced by the cyclone. (Some pictures of the aftermath can be found here.)

They probably believe that accepting aid makes them look weak. They apparently don't care that not accepting it makes them look foolish. And as the problems of starvation and disease get going, they will look like monsters.
A doctor said that increasing numbers of people were succumbing to fever and diarrhea.
The police are pulling out of some areas to avoid getting caught in the epidemics that are about to start.
