Small Town Values

Teen beating shakes small town | Kid A hears a rumor that kid B is gay. His initial reaction? To beat and then kill kid B. Do I need to mention that this is high school?
The sheriff says the suspect heard rumors that his classmate was gay, and severely beat him. Authorities allege the suspect brought a small explosive device intending to kill the student.
It really isn't clear that the rumors are true. The injured kid's family denies it, but that's what families do. Denial ain't just a river in Egypt my friends.

In any event, real proof doesn't seem to be necessary to earn a death sentence in small town America. Just a rumor.

Family values. You've gotta love 'em. (Oh, and the neighbors are shocked.)

This story reminds me of Ich Bin Ein Auslander
Welcome to a state where the politics of hate
Shout loud in the crowd "Watch them beat us all down"
There's a rising tide in the rivers of blood
But if the answer isn't violence, neither is your silence
