Neighbors Are Shocked

Employee shoots man in self-defense - Campus News Ex-husband (well, "estranged") breaks into wife's home and confronts the new boyfriend. Boyfriend ends up shooting the estranged husband.

Now to me, that sounds like self-defense. He wasn't invited. And domestic violence often turns deadly. Police seem to agree.

"Upon our investigation of the case, we have reason to believe that Weaver [the boyfriend] shot Horne in self-defense," [Milledgeville Police Capt. Dray] Swicord said.

The timing is tough to judge. The shooting was Tuesday, and Weaver was released Wednesday. Was that noon to noon, or 8 PM to 12:30 AM? Still, they got there.

Those neighbors?

Alex Smith, a [college] senior who lives across the street, said that it's such a shock to know what happened there.
