But it's not easy to get sparkling dishes when you go green.I am almost surprised that they haven't outlawed dishwashers. Of course you generally use more water washing by hand. But then washing twice isn't exactly "green" either.
Many people were shocked to find that products without phosphates left their dishes encrusted with food, smeared with grease and too gross to use without rewashing them by hand.
The part of Illinois where my father lives outlawed phosphates years ago.... in order to save the great lakes. Never mind that where my dad lives isn't in part of the Lake Michigan basin. Chicago is, so they outlawed phosphates in Cook and the surrounding counties years ago. The difference in cleaning power is amazing.
Dishwashers are obviously not a sustainable technology. Global Warming. Blah Blah Blah.
I predict we will soon all be freezing in the dark. (Eating off dirty dishes and wearing dirty clothes too.)
