Volvo Ocean Race Extreme Sailing Coming To Boston This Weekend - wbztv.com The Volvo Ocean Race, and extreme around the world race, reaches Boston this weekend. Complete with a "village" at a pier. (I think it is the modern-design movable village. It isn't at every venue.)

Participants in the ocean sailing race started their journey last October in Spain. They sailed down around Africa, skirted Southeast Asia, sailed across the Pacific, and around South America's Cape Horn.

The seven extreme teams, each comprised of 11 crew members, left Rio de Janeiro on April 11 destined for Boston. The first team is predicted to arrive at Fan Pier in Boston early Sunday morning – around 7 a.m.
