Chicago's Daley: Trampling on First Amendment Rights No Big Deal

Daley: Alderman's order to paint over mural no big deal Welcome to the world of Chicago (and now Washington, D.C.) politics. The folks in charge will do whatever they want. The law - the Constitution - be damned. And if you call them on it they shrug and say get over yourself.

I'm pretty sure the guy who owns the building could sue for having his civil rights infringed. I almost wish he would.

Freedom of speech and freedom of expression mean being able to say things, or create art, that offends people - even the police, or the aldermen of Chicago. Else it isn't free. Not free in Chicago today.

Witness the beginning of the end of freedom in America.
