Piracy - A Growth Industry

Pirate attacks pass 2008 mark - Middle East Times When they can expect multi-million dollar paydays for successful hijackings, it isn't hard to see why the numbers are increasing.

There were a 111 attacks in and around Somalia in all of 2008. So far, with less than half the year gone, there have been 114 attacks - 29 successful hijackings.

All those warships in Combined Task Force 151 haven't had a great deal of impact on the situation. And with Europe and Canada continuing the catch and release policy, why should anyone think it will change?
