The Wheels of Justice May be Catching Up With Drew Peterson

Former Bolingbrook Police Sergeant Drew Peterson Arrested In Connection With Kathleen Savio Murder - This is one of those cases that makes me want to spit. But first the news, then the rant.
Peterson will likely be charged in the death of Kathleen Savio, who was found dead in a dry bathtub in her home on March 1, 2004. Her death was originally ruled an accident, but was reclassified as a homicide after her body was exhumed for a new autopsy, following the disappearance of Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, in October 2007.
The rant is about the way the Bolingbrook police force treated this guy during his third marriage. His wife, Kathleen Savio, filed for an order of protection. (Which would have stripped his guns and probably kept him from working.) She went to the emergency room as the result of beatings administered by this guy. The local police were at her home numerous times, but somehow, they never managed to file any paperwork against their brother officer, police sergeant, Drew Peterson. I wonder why that was.

If there was truly to be justice in this case, everyone one of the Bolingbrook police officers who knew what was going on and did nothing, refusing even to file paperwork for a domestic violence incident - until the abuser (or so it seems) escalated to the point where he murdered his wife - every one of those officers would face some kind of punishment. But that will never happen. Maybe they feel some guilt today, but I even doubt that. They were protecting their brotherhood, and damn the little people.

And of course the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy, is still under investigation.
