Do Americans Really Want Small Cars?

Here is a rundown of some of the most popular cars in the US in the month of May.

• The all new 2009 F-150 — pickup truck: Number 1 selling vehicle.
• The 2009 Chevy Silverado — pickup truck: Number 2 selling
• The 2009 Ford Escape — SUV: 10th most popular
• The Dodge Ram 1500 — pickup truck: number 11
• The Toyota RAV4 — compact SUV: number 16
  
• The Honda Odyssey — minivan: number 17
• The GMC Sierra 1500 — full-size pickup truck number 20

These are just the ones that jump out at you... Others include the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry - not exactly Smart Cars.

So, how is the government going to force us - and they will try to force us - to but what they deem appropriate, as opposed to what we deem appropriate.
