Police say a man went into one of the rooms [at a motel], pulled out a gun, and tried to rob the person inside.

But the victim fought back. A shot was fired during the struggle, but no one was hit. The victim eventually pulled out a knife and stabbed the robber multiple times.

The bad guy drove himself to the hospital, where he is in serious condition. No word on what the charges will be.
