Not Even the Police Can Rely on Calling 911

This was an "officer needs assistance" call, and still no one responded. Weis calls 911 dispatch delay 'reprehensible' :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES

For 8 minutes, while he was being chased by a car full of "alleged gang members," who were shooting at him, no help was dispatched.

Ultimately he only got help because he drove himself to a police district office.

And yet the city of Chicago says you have to rely on 911 in an emergency. Any means you might use to defend yourself are illegal in the city. Yet 911 doesn't appear to be all that helpful.

Heads will role. Or someone will get a day off without pay. Whatever it takes to "send a message" to those involved in bungling the call.
