A 16-year-old boy was beaten to death in a melee involving dozens of people Thursday afternoon in the Far South Side’s Roseland neighborhood. The victim, Derrion Albert, was pronounced dead at 6:17 PM. No one is in custody.
About 3 p.m., police responded to a large group of people fighting in the 300 block of West 111th Street and found a male punched, kicked and struck about the body, according to police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti.
I wonder if Father Michael Pfleger, who falls all over himself to get on the news when guns are involved, will say anything about this incident.
"Guns cause crime, like flies cause garbage." "If guns cause crime, then spoons made Rosie O'Donnell fat." The violence is there whether or not there are guns. Fixing that will not be easy. The only thing I am sure of is that government, working alone, can't fix this.
