Greensboro police say an 80-year-old man shot and killed a break-in suspect early Wednesday morning.He was in barricaded in a back room, and shot through the door, according to a neighbor.
Police responded to the home on Walnut Street, which is near Summit Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Michael L. Medley, Jr. dead from a gunshot wound. Investigators say Charles Haithcock, 80, shot Medley after the 19-year-old broke into his home.
The investigation continues, but Mr Haithcock has not been charged.
Self-defense is a human right.
