Police said they do not expect to file charges against a 75-year-old man after he shot a teenager who tried to rob him at gunpoint. This "kid" ended up with a bullet wound in his leg. (The "teenager" is 18 years old, and when he is charged, will be charged as an adult. Language is funny thing.)
The shooting occurred Monday morning while Richard Maiden was taking his dog for a walk.
Maiden said a teenager approached him and asked questions about his companion, Vinny.
"He asked me what kind of dog it was and I told him," Maiden said. "And about that time he pulled the gun, put it in my face."
The would-be-robber collapsed about a half-mile away and picked up by police. They also recovered a gun and the victim's wallet.
Self-defense works. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.
