A modest region of intense thunderstorms (Invest 93L) is over the central Caribbean, a few hundred miles south of Hispaniola. This disturbance has the best chance to become Tropical Storm Alex of any system we've seen so far this year.Even a tropical storm could cause havoc with the efforts in the Gulf. (If hurricane watch is issued, some evacuations will occur.) If a hurricane develops... that would be bad.
