Why did they wait an hour to respond to a 911 call? Policy and procedures have to be followed.
The District police department policy on forcible entry caused a "deadly delay" as officers waited for a supervisor outside an apartment while a mother and her two young sons were being stabbed to death inside, according to a lawsuit filed by the woman's family.I doubt it will go anywhere. You can't sue the police for not coming to your rescue.
The policy that led to police taking nearly an hour to finally bust down the door and find the murdered family is at the center of a $60 million wrongful death lawsuit against the city and the officers involved.
As Breda says, "Never depend on another person to protect you. You are all you've got."

Police serve no-knock warrants on the wrong addresses, terrorizing innocent people and killing house pets.
Police wait for approval to enter an active murder scene until after the murder is over.
Well, I feel safer already.
