So How Is It These Aren't Coveded By Socialized Medicine?

If you haven't heard the latest scare to take the place of Swine Flu, read the article. Superbug hits UK through 'medical tourism' - Channel 4 News But that isn't really what caught my attention.

Here are some things that government medicine in the UK apparently doesn't cover.
he most common elective surgery procedures for patients travelling abroad from the UK are hip replacement, knee replacement, laser eye surgery and cataract removal.
Cataract removal is optional? You should just be happy being blind (or visually impaired) I guess. And why do you want to walk? We will give you a nice shinny new wheelchair. Your old knee or hip is just fine.

Add angioplasty to the list. It's considered elective because it's not an 'emergency'.
