When Seconds Count, Police Are Doing Something Else

Because busting up an off-campus pre-game party is less dangerous than fighting violent crime. The Observer - Underage drinking worse than armed robbery? Or so this guy thinks.

I suppose underage drinking on college campuses is considered a horrible thing today. When I was in college, the rule was "don't throw furniture out the window." They'd apparently had trouble with that and it attracted a lot of unwanted attention.
If you are looking for something to do on Saturday before the Purdue game, remember this. The South Bend police will be out and about, busting up off-campus tailgates and ticketing underage drinkers. But those out robbing local business and shooting members of the South Bend community will have no problems, seeing as the majority of the police force will be localized to combat to the largest threat to the community — underage drinkers.
Next they'll be trying to keep college students from sleeping with each other.
