A Chattanooga man who rescued a family friend yesterday says he didn't hesitate to shoot her former boyfriend -- who was wielding a shotgun. The guy doing the shooting was a combat engineer home from Iraq (Marine Reserve).
But the good samaritan wants it known that he is not "the new boyfriend."
The guy who got shot, got shot in the hand. He drove himself to the hospital. He has been charged with aggravated assault.
And the reporter hasn't got a clue. In one paragraph he talks about a handgun, and in the other a .30-06. Not a handgun caliber generally, though I suppose someone like Thomson/Center might make one. (I wouldn't want to shoot it!)
