So the ex-boyfriend shows up with a shotgun, and was "acting strange." The new boyfriend shows up, and the ex beats a hasty retreat. But he doesn't stay gone.
When the new boyfriend pulled up at the home, the suspect pulled off but quickly returned and pulled the shotgun again on his ex and her new boyfriend. He thought he loved her so much that he was going to shoot her with a shotgun. Funny, but I don't see the love in that act.
The new boyfriend then fired at the old boyfriend striking him. The man who was shot fled the scene and later showed up at Parkridge Hospital.
And so he met someone willing to defend himself, and he gave that someone all the reason in the world to defend himself. Pointing a shotgun at someone constitutes a reasonable threat of death or grave bodily injury in my book.
Self-defense is a human right. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.
