If You Break Into Houses, You Will Eventually Find an Armed Homeowner

Clinton man shot by homeowner | The Clarion-Ledger |
[Police Chief Don Byington] said police were called at 11:22 a.m. today to a Lindale Circle residence. The homeowner “told police he heard a knock on his front door, and when he went to the door, he observed an individual walking around the side of his house.”

Byington said the homeowner retrieved a .45-caliber pistol, and that when the man entered his back door, “he fired a round and struck him.”
The guy who got shot is in the University of Mississippi Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He faces from 3 to 25 years in jail for residential burglary of an occupied dwelling.
An investigation is continuing, [Byington] said, but he does not anticipate charges against the homeowner.
Self-defense is a human right. Good Guys 1, Bad Guys 0.
