Sex criminal's spree ended by .38 Special

Sex criminal 'excised' - PittsburghLIVE.com: A sex offender convicted of 35 crimes including rape, and assault was sentenced to 85 to 196 years.
Wesley's rampage ended Oct. 10, 2002, when University of Pittsburgh security guard Charmaine Dunbar, now 44, shot him twice in the stomach with a .38-caliber pistol as he attempted to attack her in Homewood.[ed note - they say .38 caliber, but I am betting they mean .38 special, which is NOT .38 caliber]
When the defense attorney asked for leniency based on abuse this monster received as a child, "Deputy District Attorney Janet Necessary countered that the victims were not responsible for his bad childhood."

Two points: First, armed defense against rape is the best defense. Second, mosters need to be off the streets regardless of their personal history. [Third, thanks to KABA.]
