Bystander Stops Stabbing at Wal-Mart

Wal Mart shooter likely saved life. [The orignial story seems to have been archived or deleted, try this from the LA Monitor, or this story in the Free New Mexican. Frontpage has similar info.]

A woman was being stabbed by her ex-husband in a Wal-Mart as part of a domestic dispute, when another shopper, 72-year-old Due Moore, - who was carrying a legal concealed weapon - came to her aid, and shot the bastard.
“It’s probably a very good thing he (Moore) was there,” says APD Sgt. Trish Hoffman. “Ms. Cordova may not be here today if it had not been for him.”
1911-A1Statements from witnesses imply the shooting was justified.

Joyce Cordova is in stable but critical condition at the University of New Mexico hospital. She had a restraining order in place against her ex-husband, Felix Vigil, but that did nothing. Witnesses say Moore shot Vigil 3 times. Vigil was pronounced dead at the scene.

The group Ohioans for Concealed Carry notes that Wal-Mart has always supported legal concealed carry. In this case it appears to have saved a woman's life.

It is also important to note that legal concealed carry saved this woman's life, even though she was not the one carrying a weapon. Legal concealed carry by the good citizens of this country makes us all safer.
