Gays tend to increase housing values.

Tampa Bay Online: Gay Influx Into Neighborhood Tends To Raise Property Values So the Tampa press has finally figured out what gays and lesbians have known forever, and the real estate industry has whispered about for a long time. Gays move into areas and renovate them (can you say Gentrification?)
It happened at Logan Circle in Washington, Midtown Atlanta, Chicago's Boystown. And it's happening in Tampa.
And the examples are more wide-spread than that.
