British Government Determined to Keep Self-defense Illegal

Telegraph | Opinion | What's reasonable?. The government will do all in its power to squash a proposed law, giving Brits more ability to defend themselves in their own homes.
Mr Clarke maintains that the current law, giving the public the right to use "reasonable" force works perfectly well. Yet as this newspaper has repeatedly emphasised in its campaign to strengthen the legal protection given to householders confronted by intruders, "reasonableness" is a notoriously difficult concept to grapple with in a court of law.
Brits don't want the right to "execute burglars" as the liberal Labour government maintains; they want the right to defend themselves and their families from attack.
