Call to 911 results in no officer dispatched

Clerical error preceded killing. Someone calls claiming to be menaced by an ex-husband with a gun. What does 911 do? Look for paperwork.

30 minutes later someone - the new boyfriend of the estranged wife - is dead at the hands of the husband. Police finally respond. Too little. Too late.

Tell me again how calling 911 and getting a restraining order will protect me and mine. There was a restraining order in this case - that was the paperwork they were looking for and could not find. If you are in jeapordy, the police will not always be able to get to you on time. In some cases they will wait until it is too late to even bother.
