The True Cost of Canada's Gun Registry

Captain's Quarters: Liberating The RCMP. The true cost wasn't even the 1 billion dollars Canadians know they spent on a program that DID NOT PREVENT 1 crime.

The true cost is measured in what happened to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police - the national police force. The Liberals refuesed to fund the registry, but mandated that the RCMP manage it. The result was that the RCMP was not able to enforce the law. Which law? Anti-corruption law for one. (Capt'n Ed covered the Adscam almost single-handed since the Canadian newspapers were barred from reporting. No free press in Canada.) Go take a look!

Alphecca also gets in some licks on the stupidity.
