Nothing That a Small Caliber Pistol Wouldn't Handle

FOXNews.com - 'Urban' Raccoons Kill 10 Cats, Terrorize Washington State Neighborhood - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News People understimate the size a full-grown raccoon can reach. Up to about 40 inches in length and 45 pounds - according to eNature.com.
OLYMPIA, Wash. — A fierce group of raccoons in a west end neighborhood has killed 10 cats, attacked a small dog and bitten at least one pet owner who had to get rabies shots
Some pets have gotten away or been rescued by their owners - hence the rabies shots. Trapping has had little impact.
Meanwhile, residents have hired Tom Brown, a nuisance wildlife control operator from Rochester, to set traps, but in six weeks he has caught only one raccoon. He and [Sean O. Carrell, a problem wildlife coordinator with the state Department of Fish and Wildlife,] said raccoons teach their young — and each other — to avoid traps.
Of course some of the neighbors continue to feed the raccoons, since they are cute to some people. Pet owners are trying to get that to stop. Good luck.
