Crime in Florida

Statistics show crime rate down in Florida, Walton County So the cry-babies in the Brady Bunch, and other gun-grabbing groups, predicted that the Castle Doctrine, or "Stand Your Ground" would result in bloodshed across the state. Wrong again.
According to the recently released Uniform Crime Report from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the statewide crime rate from last year was the lowest it has been since 1971.

Since 1996, the statewide crime rate index has decreased 38 percent and the violent crime rate has been cut a respectable 33 percent. Domestic violence has also decreased nearly five percent since 2005.
The Left will of course point out that the violent crime rate did increase marginally (flat statistically?) from 702.2 to 705.8 per one hundred thousand. But their predictions of wild-west shootouts have proven inaccurate.
