Do a Good Deed, Get Fired.

Man Says Home Depot Fired Workers For Catching Thieves Apparently Home Depot doesn't want its employees to do anything to stop shoplifting.
A former Home Depot employee said the company fired him and three other workers because they helped police catch several suspected shoplifters in May.
The local Home Depots stopped carrying anything I need a while back. Once upon a time they carried marine-grade plywood, 3M's 5200 (THE boating adhesive) at reasonable prices, a decent grade of varnish, etc. No more. Even stainless steel hardware I've purchased from them is of questionable quality.

But if I was still shopping there, I think this just might convince me to stop giving them any business.
Stewart and the others were fired because "he pursued and assisted in the apprehension of suspected shoplifters."
Now that this policy is out in the open, I am sure all of the shoplifters in the world will descend upon Home Depots all over the country. I wish them all the best of each other.
