Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala said Wednesday that Walter C. Wetzel Jr., 58, of Pittsburgh, will not be charged with a crime in the July 14 shooting at the BP gas station in the city's Beechview section.A month isn't bad for a DA to decide he can't prosecute self-defense. I wonder if Philadelphia would have reached a different conclusion?
Video surveillance and a witness supported Wetzel's version of the shooting, Zappala said. Raymond Crawford, 30, of Pittsburgh, aimed a .357-caliber revolver at Wetzel that night after robbing two other stores earlier in the evening, Zappala said.
Of course the DA wants us to cooperate. He doesn't offer any proof that leads to safety, just his prejudice.
Good Guys are still up 1 to 0 in this case.
