Suffrage or "This Day in History"

LibertyThe Nineteenth Amendment August 18, 1920 was the day Tennessee ratified the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution. For those of you who are a bit weak on Constitutional history, the 19th Amendment granted women the right to vote.
Nineteenth Amendment
Passed by Congress June 4, 1919.
Ratified August 18, 1920.

Section 1: The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.

Section 2: Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
This constitutional amendment was first proposed in 1878. (That's 41 years to get it enacted.)
