The Beautiful People Hate Self Defense

Don't throw blame at terrified homeowner | Dallas Morning News | News for Dallas, Texas This is perhaps the most sane thing I have seen in the MSM about the shooting of Carter Albrecht, of the New Bohemians.

The Gliterati are obsessed because it appears that a would-be beautiful person was shot legally.
But the story, inflamed by Mr. Albrecht's celebrity, has spun into not just an epitaph on his passing, but a subtle indictment of the man who shot him.

And that's not right. Police say the homeowner was awakened in the dead of night by an unidentified stranger who tried to kick in his back door.
For whatever reason, Mr Albrecht put himself in the cross-hairs. The guy who did the shooting was well within his rights, and I have to say that given what he knew, and the behavior of the person on the opposite side of the door, I would have done exactly the same thing.
The unseen intruder kept trying to break in even after the homeowner shouted that he had a gun and was calling the police. The homeowner fired once, aiming high, striking the 6-foot-5 musician in the head.
Was it the result of booze and a prescription drug? I don't know and I don't care. That is not pertinent to the events as they unfolded after he started to break into someone's home. I am sure that if someone can blame the drugs, there will be a big suit and soon. (John Edwards, call your office.)

The point is if you become a threat to me for whatever reason, I am going to defend myself. I don't care if you are Mother Teresa reincarnate. For those few moments you are a threat, and will dealt with accordingly.

Self-defense is a human right.
