A University does everything possible to discourage gun group

Students aim to form club that promotes gun ownership - News Two students at George Washington University want to form a shooting club. I hope these guys have good luck.
The Colonial Militia has not yet been approved as an official student organization, as GW officials continue to demand that the club require members undergo background checks before they can go to a shooting range in Virginia.
How exactly are they supposed to accomplish this? Hire the FBI?

GW University should be happy if they follow all the laws. Of course in this age of litigation, where you are responsible for things you couldn't possibly control, I think GW may be wise to tread slowly. But there has to be some kind of middle ground. [NRA-ILA]
