Some Sanity on the Pirate Front

Somali pirates captured by German navy go on trial There were two reports recently of pirates captured by NATO vessels off Somalia being released.

Now it seems that Kenya has stepped up to try the pirates.

Under a deal with the European Union, Kenya has agreed to try pirates detained by warships serving with an EU mission combating attacks on merchant ships off the coast of Somalia.

Kenya does have an interest in the whole thing.

Critics don't like Kenya's legal system. They are afraid that the "enemies of all mankind" won't get a fair trial.

There are still some bugs in the system, but it is something that needs to be done.
