Just before 11 p.m. on Oct. 10, James Imonti, owner of The Matador on Market Street, engaged in a verbal altercation with an individual at the bar and was stabbed in the back. That wasn't the worst time.
After the 911 call was placed, it took police 25 minutes to arrive at The Matador, Imonti said.
Ward said it took police 40 minutes to arrive in response to the fight at the BalMar this fall. You want police to show up and arrest the bad guys, but even more, in a lot of places if the cops don't show, the paramedics won't either... not to a violent crime.
A lot of bad things can happen in 40 minutes, or 25 minutes,
Calling 911 is a fine thing, but it shouldn't be your only action.
