They tried to rob an armed citizen. Sheriff: Man shoots and kills would-be robber

All he was trying to do was walk from his driveway to his front door. They wanted to rob him.

[Sheriff Newell] Normand said a couple was walking to their home when three men approached them and attempted to rob them. The man, who was also armed, shot the suspect, who was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The other two suspects fled on foot.
