An 11-year-old boy shot a man who broke into his home north of the city early Friday. The kid and his mother were barricaded in a bedroom. The thugs shot through the door, injuring the kid. He shot back with his .22 rifle hitting one of the thugs in the neck.
Three men burst into the house near the intersection of Minnesota Road and 8 Mile Line just before 12:30 a.m., Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies said.
Police have the wounded thug in custody in a hospital. Two other guys, who the cops believe are the other 2 home invaders, are in custody as well.
So, tell me again how guns have to be locked up and kept away from kids for their safety. Or is that for the safety of robbers? My original story - with the errors from that paper - can be found at this link.
