It happened just before 4 am at a home in the 1900 block of College as a man and two women were in the act of burglarizing a home.

Officials say the 64-year-old homeowner, who had also been burglarized less then 48 hours earlier, fired a shot, striking the male intruder in the chest.

The guy died at the scene and the police are searching for the other two.

Charges are not expected against the homeowner. Self-defense is a human right.
